Installation

You can install MatchFEM either through the Rhino Package Manager or manually via Food4Rhino.

Installation via Package Manager (recommended)

1. Open Rhino3D.

2. From the top menu, go to Tools → Package Manager.

3. Search for MatchFEM.

4. Click Install. Rhino will automatically download and install the plug-in.

5. Restart Rhino3D to activate MatchFEM.

Once Rhino restarts, open Grasshopper. You should now see the MatchFEM toolbar available in the component tabs.

Installation via Food4Rhino

Food4Rhino is the official plug-in repository for Rhino and Grasshopper, maintained by McNeel. It hosts verified plug-ins, documentation, example files, and version updates.

1. Visit Food4Rhino MatchFEM page.

2. Download the latest release of the plug-in.

3. Double-click the downloaded .zip and copy the MatchFEM folder.

4. Open Grasshopper, go to File → Special Folders → Components Folder.

5. Paste the MatchFEM folder within the Components Folder.

6. Restart Rhino3D.

After restarting, open Grasshopper and confirm that the MatchFEM components are available.

🎉 Installation complete! If everything is installed correctly, MatchFEM will appear as a dedicated toolbar inside Grasshopper, ready to use in your workflows.
